By registering as a Mentor, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and consent to its practices.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information when you register or use the Platform:
1.1 Personal & Professional Information
- Full name, contact number, email address, date of birth
- Professional background, expertise, experience, qualifications
- Profile content including bio, work samples, and media uploads
1.2 Verification & Compliance Information
- Government IDs or documents (PAN, Aadhaar, Passport, etc.) if required for verification
- Tax information (GST, invoices, bank account details for payouts)
1.3 Platform Usage Data
- Login activity, device information, IP address, and session logs
- Feedback, ratings, and performance data
- Communication records conducted on-platform
1.4 Payment Data
- Transaction details and payout status (via our payment partners)
2. How We Use Your Information
We process Mentor data for the following purposes:
- To create and manage mentor accounts
- To verify identity and professional credibility
- To schedule mentoring sessions and manage bookings
- To process payments and invoices
- To enable platform communications between mentors and mentees
- To improve Platform performance and personalize Mentor experience
- To provide customer support and resolve disputes
- To meet regulatory and tax requirements
We do not sell or rent personal information to any third party.
3. Cookies & Tracking
We may use cookies and analytical tools to:
- Improve usability and Platform performance
- Prevent fraudulent activity
- Store login preferences
You may disable cookies through browser settings, but doing so may affect Platform functionality.
4. Data Sharing & Third-Party Tools
Your data may be shared only with:
- Payment gateways
- Cloud storage, scheduling, and video meeting providers
- Verification agencies (if required)

We do not share personal contact details such as phone number or email with other users without your consent.

BeMyMentor follows secure data handling practices in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India).

You are required to:
- Maintain confidentiality of mentee data and session content
- Never share recordings or information without permission
Confidentiality obligations continue for three (3) years after account termination.
6. Data Retention
We retain information:
- While your account is active
- Up to 90 days after account suspension/termination for audit and compliance
- Payment and tax records as per statutory legal requirements
7. Your Rights
Under the DPDP Act 2023, you have the right to:
- Access your data
- Request correction or updates
- Request deletion (subject to legal requirements)
- Withdraw consent for non-essential processing
- Raise complaints regarding misuse or privacy concerns

8. Limitation of Liability
BeMyMentor is not responsible for:
- Any interactions or exchanges that occur outside the Platform
- Any loss due to third-party service disruption or technical issues
Mentors are solely responsible for their guidance and professional conduct.
9. Changes to This Policy
BeMyMentor may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued usage of the Platform after changes implies acceptance.
